Running between 16 and 21 August, the 2016 edition of the festival will feature music, film and other art forms. The event was founded in 2005 and has since become a major attraction on the nation’s cultural calendar. With another stellar line-up of artists, this year’s edition will offer jazz, pop and folk from every corner of the world, performed by both established and rising stars on various musical stages.
Ivorian reggae star Alpha Blondy and his 12-piece band The Solar System will take to the festival’s main stage in the heart of the Swedish capital on the evening of Friday 19 August along the charismatic Ethiopian singer Aster Aweke whose vocal style has been compared to legends such as Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin with her Masinko Band will be at the Swedish stage on Friday night.
