Ethiopia Bans Two Athletes For Four Years For Doping.


Addis Ababa, July 14, 2016 (FBC) –The Ethiopian Athletic Federation (EAF) has banned two Ethiopian athletes from any competition for doping.

Athletes Ta’emo Shumye Woldegebrieal and Sintayehu Merga Ejigu were banned for four years after testing positive for doping, said the Federation in a statement it sent to FBC today.

The two athletes failed a laboratory test jointly conducted by the IAAF medical and anti-doping department and the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the statement said.

Based on the letter it received from the two organizations, the Federation banned the two athletes from any competition for four years, effective from January 25, 2016.
