Ethiopian giants St. George Football Club have clinched Ethiopia Premier League crown for the third time on the bounce with two matches to spare.
The 2016 crown is Kidus Giorgis’ 13th in the current Ethiopian Premier League format that consists 14 teams and a record 28th since inception.
Neider dos Santos’ charges beat Dashen 2-1 on Monday evening at Addis Stadium to attain unassailable points tally of 51 – nine points clear of second placed Adama City with just two rounds of matches to the conclusion of the season.
Two goals from veteran Salhadin Said and Adane Girma locked the three points with Edom Hosowrovi scoring the only goal for Dashen.
St. George will represent the country in next year’s Caf Champions League.
